How we’ve helped companies
Case Study 1: What’s not working with our product? Which usability issues should we fix first?
Situation: Dreamdata, a digital analytics startup, had a live product and customers, but they wanted to scale up and onboard lots more users. They needed their web app to be usable and understandable for users without extensive training.
What we did:
Evaluated the Dreamdata product using key UX principles
Recruited marketers in the company’s target audience who weren’t familiar with the product
Conducted usability tests with participants to find out whether they could complete key tasks
Gave recommendations for the top issues that could be improved, including low-hanging fruit and areas for long-term investment
Coached the lead designer to continue doing usability tests with more customers on their own
The results? With this quick turn-around project, the Dreamdata team found the top issues to make sure they could focus their valuable time. The ongoing coaching helped them save money and grow their team’s skills.

Case Study 2: How can we prioritize and make sure we focus on the right things?
Situation: A data streaming company wanted to better understand their users so that they could prioritize features based on customer’s more urgent needs and wants. They had lots of ideas on the roadmap, and not enough time to do it all!
What we did:
Facilitated a workshop with product leaders to discover what they already knew about the customers and where we needed to dig in
Interviewed 12 customers matching key archetypes to find out how they use the product, issues they have, and how the product could be better for them
Presented key insights to the leadership team
Created short video clips of the research highlights so the team could easily share them throughout the company
The results? The product team updated their journey maps and feature roadmaps based on the rich insights from the interviews
Is your team working on the most important features for your users? We can help!
Case Study 3: How can we make sure our products are really meeting our users’ needs and wants?
Situation: An e-commerce company wanted to make sure their existing personas were still accurate and useful for the product team
What we did:
Interviewed product team members to understand their process and needs
Recruited and interviewed users who matched the company's existing personas
Updated the user personas based on the insights
Facilitated a working session with the product team so they could practice using the revised personas to come up with new product ideas
Created a "how to guide" to help the product team use the personas effectively
The results? The product team knows their users better, which helps them create designs and features that will best meet their needs
Do your personas need to be updated? We can help!
